Get the Fundamental down and the level of everything you do will rise - Michael Jordan
Samantha qualified as a Personal Trainer in 2016 1-year after qualifying as a fitness instructor and working in her local gym. Samantha is from a military and training background having competed with the local Army Cadets in her teens and national in athletics and swimming. Samantha later joined the Army where she excelled in everything physical from adventure training, field cookery (she was a Chef), Skiing, hiking, distance marching even completed RAF Benson (50 miles over 2 days) and Nijmegan Marches (100 miles over 4 days with weight) as an apprentice in Aldershot.
When Samantha came to being a Personal Trainer in civilian life it came about due to health issues she could not make sense of. Over the next 10-years Samantha would receive a diagnosis of CFS/ME and see her training impacted by a stress-related illness.
Samantha launched Body Conditioning classes in 2018 in Amesbury and Wilton which were a huge hit to the local community. Body Conditioning is Samantha’s own variation on PIYO (Pilates/yoga) fused into a workout style class focussing on helping attendees to appreciate slow controlled exercise that would bring balance and strength to their bodies in turn giving them confidence and ease of gaining good fitness levels without harsh, impactful and intense workouts. Having seen too many bootcamp/crossfit and the like style classes Samantha intuitively understood through her knowledge and experience that military-style of training is not conducive to lifelong health and fitness or even appropriate for general civilian populations. In addition to this Samantha delivered exercise and nutrition classes for NHS patients with lifestyle chronic illnesses for 18-months and took on personal training clients with various health and fitness goals.
Samantha knows that the essence of any level of fitness and longevity is down to understanding the fundamentals and keeping the foundations strong so that building upon them is not an injury waiting to happen. In reading, watching and learning from many sports professionals at all levels there is one quote that resonates with Samantha and the work she does more that any other. You may have already seen it on the website.
